They also pointed out several other problems with the car. These were relatively large problems. I brought the car back to fix these problems and the car was ready by the end of the day! Their longevity, in such a competitive market, is due to the honest service and tight pricing on labor and parts and consistent long term results. I attest to this. Trust is an important aspect in auto repair - in price, repair, and results. Tidwell Auto passes the trust test every time. Ask to speak to Troy Tidwell the owner, or Elizabeth; they are actively present and knowledgeable. I have asked them for a ride home on occasion (I live within three miles). This has never been a problem. Shana who works for them - has provided that ride; she is a genuine, intelligent, and knowledgeable. This is why Tidwell has been my trusted mechanic for over 10 years. Somehow, I hadn't changed the oil on my wife's car for a YEAR! (Usually get the oil changed when I take it in for a repair, and hadn't had any repairs). Tidwell changed the oil fast and for a good price, checked everything and topped off all the fluids, and that was it. You can trust Tidwell to do only the repairs you need and approve, and not scare you with repairs you don't need (or worse). This is a great neighborhood auto mechanic shop and is the only place I go for auto repairs and maintenance.

I was at Tidwell auto service last week for a oil leak, which was a real seal and a pan gasket seal. They notified me that my 2008 Ford Ranger needed a sway bar links set also they ordered in and I came back and the installed in while I waited. Honest, efficient, and fair. I had a part replaced with them a year ago at a fair price for what was done and they had it done in a timely manner then not quite a year later something goes wrong with that part (just got a dud or something) called them they said they do have warranty on it and replaced it with no charge took me in the next morning and said they would have it done in a day but had it done the next day. I am very grateful they confirmed the problem and fixed it! Very grateful that what could have been a stressful situation wasn't and was solved quickly. They were honest and didn't try to sale me anything or tell me anything and else was the matter! Would def recommend to others to use! There is a reason they stay busy!

If you value your vehicles like I do then you should take 2 minutes to read this review. It won't be a waste of your time. I really don't know where to start because I have too many positive things to say about Tidwell Auto Service. 5 stars isn't enough. We've all heard the horror stories about repair shops and most have probably had a bad experience somewhere along the way. I've been working on cars/trucks my entire life and over some 30 plus years of experimentation and experience as a weekend warrior I'm a self actualized master mechanic. I don't trust most mechanics and there are plenty of decent one's out there. But they aren't always easy to find. Tidwell is direct, easy to work with, reasonably priced, extremely knowledgeable and high quality people. They have completed numerous repairs on my truck over the years in a very timely fashion and they are the ONLY mechanic I'm comfortable telling friends/family to deal with. My truck has over 200k miles on it and isn't slowing down. I would send my worst enemy to Tidwell. Do yourself a favor and give them a call. It'll save you time and money. You won't be taken advantage of and always get what you pay for. Honest service and great prices just don't do them justice. I've never had better experiences with a repair shop.

You did a standard oil change, no problem. Also replaced the alternator and battery for the second time in 4-5 years. Also used a "remanufactured alternator", not a new one. When given the quote, I was not quoted for new or refurbished alternator, nor explained WHY it would have to be replaced again! I also was NOT called to say the car would be kept over the weekend which should have been done as a courtesy.

I took my car for engine check light. The mechanic informed me that the Air flow sensor was causing the fault. I had the sensor and it stopped from turning off at stop lights. It is refreshing that people do not try to push unnecessary repairs.

Friendly and knowledgeable locally-owned and operated auto service center! We have had a number of visits for oil changes, light bulb replacement, and they have also diagnosed a check engine light that ended up being a spark plug that was misfiring incorrectly sometimes (tricky to figure out). They have done same/day service for us, but we have also made appointments in the past. They also have specials if you sign up for their alerts. All in all, we have had a great experience at Tidwell's, and Mr. Tidwell is an empathetic businessman. Can't forget about Elizabeth at the front desk - always helpful and calls you when she says that she will.

The battery and alternator went out on our car which is dangerous because the car will shut down unexpectedly at any time. We just made it to Tidwell as the power steering was going out. It is electrically assisted. Our visit was unexpected but they took the car in right away. It was ready the next morning. They replaced the battery and the alternator. They also checked the power steering to make certain that it was not damaged. Our car was fixed quicker than we expected and the bill was very reasonable for the parts needed and the labor done. Tidwell will have all of our business.

I have known Troy for almost 30 years. During that time he has kept all of our cars running and in top shape. Brakes, Air Conditioners, Engine rebuilds and oil changes. You name it Troy and his crew have done all kinds of auto repair work for my family, usually at a cost of 1/2 what a dealer would get. I really like the quality of the NAPA replacement parts and the 2 year warranty on most things. The warranty gives you a lot of piece of mind. I put a lot of miles on cars. In our area so the air conditioner is on high, 10 months per year. Troy's folks had done an air conditioner compressor replacement, for me. It worked great for a long time. Then it would be fine on the highway and not so good in stop and go traffic. Nicole checked all of the paperwork it had been 22 months ago. Not only was the compressor paid for it also covered the labor and some other component parts. So for a very little money out of my pocket I had a brand new AC system covered by NAPA. Tidwell's is always fair and as honest as you can be.

We took our car in after a trip where the air conditioning wasn't working very well. Tidwell put a new compressor in & we got the car back on a Friday. Sunday after church we stopped for gas & there was a puddle of a red fluid under the car. We had to have AAA tow us to Tidwell's . Monday they started works on fixing the transmission. We were inconvenienced by not having the car but it was ready on Thursday for our 4th trip. Every one was so nice & we had no more trouble with the car. I would recommend them.

I drove my car to a family vacation and it began making a funny noise almost immediately into the trip. We were thinking about turning around and then the noise quit. We continued on our way and returned. No problems. Wanted to check it out on return and contacted Tidwell Auto Service. I took the car to them the day before they could get to it and they returned it to me the day they promised once they identified the problem and called me with the price for the work. We paid less than the original estimate which is always nice and everything they worked on works great. They replaced wheel bearings on the rear and a brake switch. They have always worked on my personal cars for years and have kept them running great for all our vehicles from SUV's to compacts. They have been the fleet mechanics for the company I work for for more than 15 years and always have done good work at a good price for us. They have done everything from oil changes to replace motors and transmissions for us. For a small shop they really crack out the work and do it well. Always been very happy working with them.

Accomodating Since retirement, wife and I decided to only carry expense of one automobile. Brake fluid flush at regular intervals is manufacturers suggested maintenance. This is second time Tidwell has performed this service for me. Both times I called ahead, set up appointment and waited on service to be performed. I visited this store in the past week several times. First time, I went to do the oil change as I overfill the oil and the car get much smoke. Service was excellent and front desk is very helpful. Afterwards, I find my rear brakes are too thin so I went there to replace them and also requested a full inspection as well. They helped to replace the brakes and give me a list of problems such as gasket leak, too much carbo. I believed they can fix and works after the repair. Now I find my turbo has some issue, I am totally depending on them now. Hope they can fix it ASAP. Reasonable price and sweet service, also promising timeline. I think it will be the only one I can trust from now on as long as I am in TX area now.

I had the starter replaced on my geriatric '97 Nissan truck by Tidwell. Soon after getting it back, it started making an odd noise when starting up. I called them about it and, without hesitation, they told me to bring it back in and they would replace it. No discussion, no trying to sell me some additional service when I got there, and no charge. When I took the truck back they already had the replacement starter on their floor waiting for me. Megan & Amanda are great people to have at the front desk! They were both very helpful in answering my questions and talking about their services. Things to know, They take Synchrony Car Care, it's a credit card that helps you finance anything over $199. Super helpful since care repairs aren't cheap. They also will buy a Lyft for you to get home and back from the repair. Their owner has been here for 40 years and their head mechanic for 30! They also diagnose for free and will beat the price of most if not all places Not opened on weekend, which is a bummer, but family first 5 star experience and would come again! EDIT: I got a call from them mid service that they broke my driver side steering knuckle. I was shocked, but they assured me that they will pay for the new part and put it in for free. They took responsibility and were very honest about it. I picked up my car and it handles slightly better and that weird sound from the bearing is gone!

My experience has been good. More recently I had a problem with the distributor on my 2001 Accord. It was replaced by Tidwell less than two years ago. So, they replaced it under warranty, no questions asked. In this day and age, it's difficult to find an auto shop that will stand behind their work and do the right thing for the customer.

I really like this company. I am a owner of a construction company and have many vehicles. I've been going to this place for many years. Every time they offer a "it's reasonable on the price. But the service and quality of work has been better than any other car company I've dealt with in the past. That is why I rated five stars. I only had to come back one time because something they fixed did not fix the problem. That's not bad considering I've been there 10 to 12 times to get my trucks fixed. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent experience I had with Tidwell Auto Services I would give them 100 star. My Ford transit connect had issue with the battery, so first I went to auto zone to have my battery checked out and I was told that my battery was bad and I bought a new one from autozone. after a day or so the new battery went bad again... so I thought I had a bad alternator. I decided to take it to a mechanic shop near me. I found Tidwell auto online they had good reviews so I decided to try them out plus I was quoted a very reasonable price for a new alternator. After Tidwell diagnosis my work van it turned out it was the battery bad and not the alternator. I returned the battery to autozone and bought a new one from these guys. They saved me time and money. Its hard to find trustworthy and honest mechanics. Tidwell is highly recommended for the honesty and high quality of services. I return then next week to have my belt replaced and they did an outstanding job and I was quote way better price then other mechanics in the area.
